finally have got enough time to post bout my trip to china [kunming, yun nan]... hahaxx. so yeah stayed there for 9 days! really hard to survive without my handphone..so.. here it goes...
Friday,18th june 2004
couldnt sleep the whole night! so ended up watching tv throughout the night.. then in the morning found out that i had a sore throat but thought that some water will make it better so,i ignore lorhx. then went to airport took the aeroplane. hours later, finally arrived at kun ming. then i was sortta tired, so we decided to take a rest at the hotel first... so my family took a "short" nap at the hotel. okay, so i went to take a rest. then my mother tried to wake me up after a few hours.. then it was like nothing could wake me up...then she had to like shake me real hard before i awoke. then so unlucky..i was down with fever.so i was like [okay, i am stranded in the hotel..] then my family did not go out also lorhz...[guilty] hahaXx. then we just ordered the hotel food for dinner. actually we wanted to go down to the place to eat.. but there were too many mosquitoes... [me, being "sensitive" to mosquitoes made alot of noise...hahaxx] so we decided to order it to our room.okay so that was for the first day.
Saturday, 19th june 2004
so, woke up later than we usually did for holidays.. then hmm.. went to eat and then went for a little shopping. we were like searching high and low for my brother's catriage [for gameboy] cox he wanted to get some more.. then the shopping centres were like selling either groceries or electrical appliances.. not much shopping for me to do there.. then after a while i felt really sick so we went back to the hotel again... hahaxx what did we eat for dinner that day? couldnt really remember already. so i'll proceed to the next day!
Sunday, 20th june 2004
on this day, we visited this place called shi bo yuan where they have got all the specialities of loads of countries in there.. and different countires sent in different items! it was really an eye opener for both me and my family. and they had a small enclosed area where they sell many things from different countries.. we bought some bracelets which came from one country [obviously] but hahaxx.. couldnt rememeber what country it was. then we went one and toured the place.. there were so many things on sale.. but not all of them were wonderful.. then we passed by the station which sold singapore's specialities.. and there was actually so many axed brand oil on sale.. then the sales lady were trying to persuade us to take a look and explaining to us the things on sale.. then my family started to giggle and laugh coz, they didnt know we ourselves should know the things better than them becoz, we are singaporeans! hahaXx.. soon we finished touring shi bo yuan and we actually signed up for this tour agency to bring us around tp many places. after that, we actually went shopping.. shopping for instruments! i manage to get a cello and my bro a violin although he didnt know how to play..so, my dad brought the instrumeants back to the hotel while we continued to shop again.. this time we started buying shoes! hahxx.. so after that again, we returned to the hotel for a rest so that we will have more energy for the next day.

this day was fantastic! we visited the shi lin [stone forest] which was mountains which was all rocks! it was a beautiful place and there was this place when we could actually view the whole of stone forest from the top! although it was really high and i was abit afriad i still managed to take many pictures up there! it was like so beautiful.. a scene where u will never be able to see in singapore! one the other hand, having to climb up the stone forest, it was a really tiring job. i was totally exhausted from the climb! then we were brought to this place which is sortta like with loads of physicians. they will actually tell u which part of ur body is weak and so on and persuade u to buy the medicines! so becoz my grandma couldnt speak chinese, i became her translator, translaing to the doctor what she says and translating to her what the doctor is saying. oh yar.. btw my granny is a hokkien.. hahaxx so the doctor told me to tell her that buying a number of medicines will help her lead a healthier life and stuffs like that... and when my grandma refused to buy the medicine, the doctor sort of flew into rage and blow her top and left. i was like wow.. hahaxx anyway, we left that place soon.. and wwe were sent back to the hotel for a good rest cox the next day will be more tiring

this time, we visited a cave! it was pretty exiting at first.. as i've never been to a cave....further more, a real one.. so well, when we reached there we were made to go into a boat with sum others and we were like canooing? [wadeva it is spelt] hahaxx.. so we canooed into this erm.. river? with real dirty water! ok... didnt wanna touch the water.. so the place was called jiu xiang anyways..so we climbed up the cave and it was totally wet and slippery! almost slip and fall.. if really slip and fall.. u guys will never see me again.. hahaxx.. really! ok and tis was much more tiring than shi lin [the stone forest] there was lots of spring water in the cave... and according to my mother who touched it, she commented it was like ice water... so on that very night, we went to take a train to Dali.. another part of china and we slept overnight in it.. in a cabin, there were six bunks.. one below one in the middle and one on top.. then we took like 4 bunks and btw..the otehr 3 bunks were opposite of the 3 bunks.. so the other 2 bunks were occupied by two guys probrably in the 40s? then we later found out we were from the same tour.. so i was sleeping on the middle bunk.. and on the bottom bunks were my granny on one side and another guy on the other..so the moment he slept, he started snoring real loudly.. that i couldnt sleep.. so i stayed up the whole night chatting with my dad.. then at around 2 plus i was forced to sleep cox my dad was already sleepy...
Wednesday,23rd june 2004
we arrived at dali in the early morning.. and my brother wasnt feeling well.. so we continued our tour while he was sent back to the hotel together wif my dad...so todays tour, we went to a ship...sumthing like starcruise? but there is no bed... so yeah..we stayedin the boat for 5 whole hours! so bored on board... we went down the ship 3 times to tour sum islands? but there wasnt much on it also.. so after we alighted from the ship, we went to the butterfly park..sumthing like the one in our own sentosa...only that there were more butterflies... then we went to the ancient city of dali.. i manage to get the dizi for kathleen and my bro and one for me...hahaxx.. and i also cannot blow the dizi..lol.. so we were back to the hotel to have our dinner and we retired for the night.

then we took a bus to lijiang in the morning.. [another part of china as well, near dali] then we were brought to the ancient city of lijiang.. tis ancient city was much better than the one in dali! and i bought a pipa and went back to hotel after awhile.. then we were watching this hilarious comedy about the famous poet if i am not wrong, tang bo hu.. then after watching the show, we were down for dinner again. after dinner, we went back to the ancient city as my father decided to get a guitar as well.. the guitar he got was like beautiful.. it was blue and the tone of black was like perfectly spreaded out on the side of the guitar.. so it was quite late so we went back to take a rest again at the hotel..hahxx

actually suppossed to return to singapore on this day.. however there was no more flight tickets so we took the saturday flight. then we went to visit the xue shan [snow mountain] it was like so beautiful! and the tour guide was actually trying her best to persuade us to not go up there so on and so for.. but we insisted on going up there so it was like.. too bad... and the 5 guyx in the same tour group as me said that probrably she was trying to keep the money which was supposed to be used for our entrance fee to herself.. so bad ritex? well, after visiting the snow mountain, we were brought to the so called cheapest jewellry shop in lijiang.. haix... most of the trips they actually brought us to duty-free shops.. anyways.. in the shop, there was this counter with an old man sitting in there. u could actually bring the jade you perchased and let him see if it was of good quality. one of the guys in my tourgroup actually brought the jade to him where he had bought outside in another duty free shop and the old man confirmed that the jade was of a grade [the best grade]! the guy was like so happy lor.. he sortta shouted yay in the shop and he started to dance a little.. hahaxx he was like also shaking his butt? lol.. [happy for him.. hehexx] so after that, we took a bus back to dali to get ready for another train ride back to kun ming. so at the train station, we still had quite some time to go.. so as a family, we managed to gather together at a couch which i was really happy lorx.. cox my parents are always busy with their work.. seldom have time to spend with us.. so we finally managed to spend some quality time together.. then we started to play murderer.. the one where there is a detective, a murderer and victims... so although it was sort of childish, but my bro simply loved that game? so we just played with him. then soon time passed quickly and we were on board the train on our way back to kunming.. this time i teased agan.. i said whoever sleeping on the bunk next to the guy who snores really loud will be sooo unlucky! and guess what? i was the unlucky one sleeping on the bunk next to him! oh my... really couldnt sleep the whole night already..

yay.. reached kun ming early in the morning.. finally! i'm going back to singapore! so our flight was around 3.30.. so we went back to the previous hotel to collect our stuffs and we lazed around there.. soon, it was time to leave.. when i was transferring my stuffs up the car, i found that my pipa's head actually broke! i was like who is the idiot who broke it? i am like furious already.. then i suspect its some one from the hotel.. most probrably the guy who we passed the lagguage to.. cox when i passed it to him it was ok... and according to my mother's friend who met us at the hotel, she said that the pipa experienced a bad knock before it was damaged.. and it would cause a very loud sound..and when it was with me, there wasnt any loud sound! so...thats why i suspected it was the guy frm the hotel.. haix.. what could i do?so just left for singapore lor... then at the airport, i requested to hand carry my cello in with me.. unfortunately, the size was too big.. so i had to check in as lagguage..then after talking to the manager, we had her adssurance that if any damages had been done to the cello, we were able to lodge a complaint.so no choice, we checked it in as lagguage.. the moment i reached singqapore, i immediately checked the cello when it was in my hands. after glancing it from the side, i was relieved that there wasnt any scrathes or anything.. luckily my dad reminded me to take out the whole cello to check before we left.. just as i expected, there was a dent on the side of the cello.. [wah] immediately, i took the cello and went to the service counter and lodged a complaint... the lady then taught us how to send the letter to the airline to lodge a complaint.. hehexx... that was bout it for my trip to china!
